WASHINGTON'S ON SET INJURY

DENZEL WASHINGTON avoided a serious injury on set of new film DEJA VU after co-star PAULA PATTON accidentally stuck her fingers in his eyes twice.

It was Hollywood newcomer Patton's first day on the set of the time travelling movie - and she admits nerves played a big part in getting the simple stunt wrong.

She explains, "It was my first day and I was really nervous. I was meant to push Denzel away with my hands but I caught him in the eye. I was mortified.

"But Denzel was great with me, and said don't worry. And when we did it again, I did the exact same thing!"
