DITTO'S PSYCHIATRIC STAY

Rock star BETH DITTO has admitted she once suffered from bouts of depression, and was even committed to a psychiatric hospital three years ago.

The GOSSIP front woman, who was recently voted coolest person in music by NME magazine, insists she's not the only family member that has suffered from the condition - her brother has also just recently finished a short stay at a psychiatric hospital.

Speaking about her time at the institute, the lesbian rocker says, "I felt like I was going to die and I didn't want to die. Depression runs in my family - my oldest brother has just got out of a psychiatric hospital.

"Because I have so many brothers and sisters and I've seen my mom go through so many things, I have examples where I can say, 'I can't be that way, I can't end up like that.' That's one of the reasons I moved away from Arkansas."

And the change of location has certainly helped the heavyweight singer, admitting she's never felt better after going into therapy.
