Indian movie star AMITABH BACHCHAN insists Bollywood and Hollywood will never join forces, because of the differences between Asian and Western culture.
Bachchan, 64, the biggest male star in Bollywood and an ambassador for the Indian film industry, would love to take it more mainstream - but can't see how the cultures could combine without clashing.
Bachchan, aka The Big B, says, "Social norms would have to come to a meeting point. The West, and America in particular, wouldn't find much in common with our social norms.
"Take family values: all our films have a strong sense of the importance of family, the affections and emotions that exist between parent and child, brothers and sisters and so on.
"In the Western world, this is non-existent. In the West, a guy gets to 18 and says, 'See you later, Dad,' and is out of the house. In India, when he gets to 18, he says, 'I need a job to look after my parents.'
"I still live with my parents and it's an honour."
