BROWN UPSET WITH OJ SIMPSON 'HUSH MONEY' OFFER

OJ SIMPSON's former sister-in-law DENISE BROWN has slammed the media company behind the former American football star's controversial new book IF I DID IT for trying to buy her silence for millions.

Publishers knew the book, which is Simpson's hypothetical account of how he would have killed his wife NICOLE and her friend RON GOLDMAN, would be savaged by the media, and they reportedly went out of their way to make sure the bad press was minimal.

Denise Brown reveals she was approached by representatives from media mogul RUPERT MURDOCH's News Corp, the owner of publisher Harper Collins and the Fox TV network which was airing the accompanying TV special, and offered profits from the sale of the book.

She reveals, "They wanted to offer us millions of dollars. Millions of dollars for, like, 'Oh, I'm sorry' money. But they were still going to air the show.

"We just thought, 'Oh my god. What they're trying to do is trying to keep us quiet, trying to make this like hush money, trying to go around the civil verdict, giving us this money to keep our mouths shut.'"

News Corp spokesman ANDREW BUTCHER has confirmed the offer was made to Brown and other family members, but there was no suggestion that the cash was 'hush' money.

The TV special planned to promote the book has since been cancelled.
