JACKSON CAUSED AWARDS CHAOS

MICHAEL JACKSON threw the World Music Awards into disarray last night by pulling out of a planned duet of his hit THRILLER with R+B star CHRIS BROWN.

Fans expected the star to recreate the 1982 hit, performing live in London for the first time in nine years.

But Jackson failed to attend a rehearsal and told journalists when he arrived at the Earls Court venue that reports he would sing were "a misunderstanding".

An un-named event organiser tells British newspaper The Sun, "No one knew if they'd perform at all. They were terrified it would be a total disaster."

Brown was left to sing Thriller alone. Jackson appeased angry fans when he stepped onstage for a performance of WE ARE THE WORLD - but left most of the singing to a backing gospel choir, managing just a few lines.
