STANLEY HONOURED WITH MEDAL OF ARTS

Bluegrass legend RALPH STANLEY was honoured with the US National Medal of Arts by PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH in the White House's Oval Office yesterday (09NOV06).

The 79-year-old country great joined stars like actress CYD CHARISSE and composer WILLIAM BOLCOM for the honour, America's highest accolade for artistic excellence.
