An Australian TV talent show judge has been blasted for commenting on the weight of wannabe singers on his show - by another reality star who survived an eating disorder.
Athlete TAMSYN LEWIS, who is a contestant on Australia's DANCING WITH THE STARS, has slammed AUSTRALIAN IDOL judge KYLE SANDILANDS for comments he made about a contestant he felt was too fat.
Lewis, an ambassador for Australia's Butterfly Foundation, which helps girls overcome eating disorders, fumes, "If Kyle really felt that strongly about something like that, perhaps he could have said it behind the scenes.
"Whenever you're going to say something to a young girl about her weight issues, I think you have to be so damned careful."
Lewis, 28, who overcame her own eating disorder, insists Sandilands is obviously confused about the message his comments could send to young girls.
She adds, "You can be as healthy as (anything) and still look in the mirror and go, 'Oh my God, I look terrible.'"
