THE DEPARTED CONTINUES TO TOP UK/IRELAND BOX OFFICE
Legendary film-maker MARTIN SCORSESE's THE DEPARTED is the number one movie at the UK and Ireland box office for a second consecutive week.
The Departed, which boasts an all-star cast including JACK NICHOLSON, MATT DAMON, LEONARDO DiCAPRIO, MARK WAHLBERG and ALEC BALDWIN, took GBP1.45 million ($2.6 million) last week (ends22OCT06). THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, starring MERYL STREEP and ANNE HATHAWAY, remains at number two with takings of GBP1.35 million ($2.4 million). Cartoon comedy BARNARD is a new entry at number three, pulling in just over GBP1 million ($1.8 million). Animated movie OPEN SEASON falls a place to number four, while horror sequel THE GRUDGE 2 is a new entry at number five.
