CLOONEY AND PALS QUEUE FOR NEW ONE TV CAMPAIGN

GEORGE CLOONEY and his OCEAN'S 11 co-stars MATT DAMON and JULIA ROBERTS have been caught waiting in line as part of a new public service announcement raising support for charity ONE: The Campaign To Make Poverty History.

The actors and others, including country singer TOBY KEITH and former DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star ALFRE WOODARD, debuted their new television ad on Monday night (23OCT06) on MTV.

In the commercial, which will run during the upcoming US election season, Damon states, "This is a first step in a long-term effort to start making the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty part of the election conversation, and Americans can be part of that by joining ONE.org.

"Saving lives in the world's poorest countries. Winning the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty.

"There aren't two sides to these issues. There is only one. Please vote ONE.org."

Clooney adds, "Both this election and as we start to look toward 2008, you can talk with the candidates, you can get on their websites, let them know that you will be asking them about their positions and to do even more to save lives in Africa and the world's poorest countries."

The ONE campaign was launched with the help of U2 rocker BONO and is a coalition of over 70 non-profit, advocacy and humanitarian organisations.

BRAD PITT: 'GET OFF MY LAND'

Movie star BRAD PITT is planning to press criminal trespassing charges against a TV crew after a construction team allegedly found them wandering around on his Hollywood Hills estate.

The actor's security team dashed to the property when it was alerted to the fact workers on Pitt's new home had discovered two members of a crew from US cable TV network E! Entertainment on his property.

Sources tell website TMZ.com the alleged trespassers were spotted walking up a dirt driveway at the back of Pitt's home after unchaining a gate.

They were allegedly filming the exterior of Pitt's craftsman house when they were spotted and detained as security guards attempted to confiscate a camera.

But an E! spokesperson insists the sourced account of events is not totally true.

The spokesman says, "From our initial investigation, that is not how the events occurred."

A source for the TROY star insists Pitt intends to press criminal trespassing charges.

WILSON COMES CLEAN ABOUT ALCOHOLISM

Former WILSON PHILLIPS star CARNIE WILSON has confessed she spiralled into an alcoholic haze two years after her gastric bypass surgery that almost cost her her marriage, in an interview on US TV.

The singer thought her problems were over when she shed 150 pounds (63 kilograms) after drastic surgery in 1999 but admits she simply transferred her food addiction to one of wine and spirits.

Appearing on yesterday's (24OCT06) OPRAH show, Wilson revealed she once consumed a bottle of wine and 10 Margaritas a day and was "absolutely crocked" when she shot her infamous Playboy spread in 2003.

She explained, "I find that after people have this surgery there is a time of euphoria and you are out celebrating... You wanna dance, you wanna move, you can get up and dance, you can suddenly move without sweating or being out of breath.

"The drinking progressed more and more and I found I was getting drunk very fast and I was getting sober very fast and it was frightening because I saw myself going down a dark spiral very quickly."

But, after driving home drunk from a shopping trip in Los Angeles, Wilson confronted her husband ROB BONFIGLIO and asked him to tell her if she was an alcoholic.

Bonfiglio recalls, "We really wanted to start a family and we were five years into our marriage at that point and she was really kind of in the whole alcoholism stage and I said, 'You're either gonna sober up and be sober for a little while before we start trying to have a baby, or I don't really see us going anywhere. What's the point?'"

Sobbing Wilson told show host OPRAH WINFREY she hit rock bottom at that point and has been sober ever since.

She added, "I wanna be the best mom I can be, that's why I'm clean. I'm clean for my daughter. I got sober and three weeks later I was pregnant."

FABOLOUS HIRES DETECTIVE TO HELP HIM CLEAR HIS NAME

LATEST: Rapper FABOLOUS has hired a top private detective in an effort to clear his name following his arrest last week (ends20OCT06) for gun possession.

The BREATHE hitmaker and members of his entourage were charged with criminal possession of a weapon after police caught them speeding from the scene of a shooting incident in New York, which left the rapper wounded.

But now Fabolous' lawyer insists a hired investigator will find exonerating evidence to clear his client's name and prove he was the innocent party in the drama last Tuesday (17OCT06).

The private detective has been commissioned to uncover what went on outside rap mogul SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS' restaurant Justin's moments before shots rang out.

The rapper's attorney ALBERTO EBANKS says, "We want to look into everything that happened that day. The New York Police Department is so overburdened with so many investigations on so many fronts that we want to help them better understand what happened.

"I feel that rather than sit around and wait, we want to be proactive about information. It has to do with getting these charges removed as early as possible."

Fabolous was charged late last week and released on $150,000 (GBP83,300) bail.

COYLE LEFT TERRIFIED BY TOM JONES

"He was one of the first famous people I met. Then you realise people are normal whatever they do. But it is impressive if someone walks in and you've watched them your whole life, like John Travolta. You can't not be impressed by that.

"I'm a big fan but I'm just a bit better at covering it up now - I don't giggle - I just act as normal as I can then scream when I get outside."

MCCARTNEY DIVORCE LEAK TRACED TO LONDON SHOP

LATEST: The leaked divorce documents that accuse SIR PAUL McCARTNEY of physically abusing his wife HEATHER MILLS during their marriage have been traced to a fax machine in a London newsagent.

The court papers were said to have been prepared by Mills' solicitors Mishcon De Reya. They were first published a week ago (18OCT06) in British newspaper the Daily Mail, leading to a media frenzy in an already acrimonious split.

The previous day (17OCT06) the documents had also been faxed to news agency Press Association's office in Howden, England, but officials there doubted their authenticity.

However, the agency's IT department now believes the fax was sent from newsagent Drury News in Holborn, London, the heart of the capital's legal profession.

PETER METRA, who has run the shop for 15 years, remembers a smartly dressed, brunette woman aged between 35 and 45 using the fax machine.

He tells British newspaper The Times, "I think she might have been from the US or Canada - her accent was definitely different. I put the first page through and then she did the rest. We checked the fax number and she sent it."

Yesterday (24OCT06), Mills announced she is suing two British newspapers, the Daily Mail and the Evening Standard, over "false, damaging and immensely upsetting" statements surrounding her divorce from the former BEATLE.

SCISSOR SISTERS DRUMMER MAKES LIVE RETURN

SCISSOR SISTERS drummer PADDY BOOM rejoined the band at a hometown gig in New York City on Saturday (21OCT06).

The I DON'T FEEL LIKE DANCIN' group was forced to cancel American shows earlier this month (OCT06) because Boom was struggling with a recurring back problem. A temporary replacement was drafted in to keep the band on the road.

But Boom took to the stage for Saturday's 90 minute set at Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom.

LIMBAUGH BLASTS PARKINSON'S SUFFERER FOX FOR 'ACTING'

Controversial US radio host RUSH LIMBAUGH has slammed actor MICHAEL J FOX for ''acting'' his way through a new campaign ad for his favourite politician.

The Parkinson's Disease sufferer is seen frantically shaking as he urges voters to consider Missouri Democratic Senate candidate CLAIRE McCASKILL in the TV spot.

McCaskill shares Fox's hopes for a cure for Parkinson's Disease, and is a strong advocate of embryonic stem cell research.

But right-wing radio pundit Limbaugh is far from convinced the BACK TO THE FUTURE star was being honest in the tough-to-watch TV ad, accusing him of faking his condition.

He says, "Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting... He's exaggerating the effects of the disease.

"This is the only time I have ever seen Michael J Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has. This is really shameless of Michael J Fox."

In his radio rant, which aired on Monday (23OCT06), Limbaugh continued "I will bigly (sic), hugely admit that I was wrong, and I will apologise to Michael J Fox if I am wrong in characterising his behaviour on this commercial as an act, especially since people are telling me they have seen him this way on other interviews and in other television appearances.

"Michael J Fox is using his illness as a way to mislead voters into thinking that their vote for a single United States senator has a direct impact on stem cell research in Missouri. It doesn't, and it won't."

THE DEPARTED CONTINUES TO TOP UK/IRELAND BOX OFFICE

Legendary film-maker MARTIN SCORSESE's THE DEPARTED is the number one movie at the UK and Ireland box office for a second consecutive week.

The singer/actress has posted a blog on her official website urging voters not to be worried by a new TV campaign which suggests terrorist OSAMA BIN LADEN will increase attacks on America if President GEORGE W BUSH's party is voted out of office.

The fervent Democrat claims the new ad, which features eight-year-old news footage of a threatening Bin Laden, is determined "to provoke fear and panic in American voters".

She writes: "The new ad essentially repeats the Republican strategy before the 2004 presidential election: vote Democrat and your family will die!

"The ad features Osama Bin Laden and quotes his threats against America from February 1998... This tactic of playing the fear card is all too familiar.

"During the 2004 election, every time (Bush opponent) JOHN KERRY's poll numbers elevated, the government announced a new heightened terror alert and people were once again forced to face the orange colour code.

"We can not let it work, we cannot fall for it again... They will manipulate the truth and repress the facts in order to be successful... They will do anything to stay in power.

COBAIN TOPS DEAD EARNERS LIST

Tragic NIRVANA star KURT COBAIN has toppled ELVIS PRESLEY as the king of dead celebrities.

After years of topping Forbes.com's annual list of the top earning dead celebrities, the king of rock 'n' roll has ceded his crown to the SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT singer.

The list, published yesterday (24OCT06), claims the grunge icon, who shot himself in 1994, 'earned' a whopping $50 million (GBP27.8 million) between October 2005 and October 2006.

Presley fell to number two on the new list, with $42 million (GBP23.3 million).

The top spot on the new Forbes list marks the first time Cobain has appeared on the death chart since its inception in 2000. Presley has been number one since day one.

Others appearing on the new list include PEANUTS animator CHARLES SCHULTZ, JOHN LENNON, MARILYN MONROE, BOB MARLEY and RAY CHARLES.

MADONNA PUBLICIST HELPED MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE LAND MINNELLI

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE have MADONNA's longtime publicist LIZ ROSENBERG to thank for helping them persuade LIZA MINNELLI to join them in the studio.

The group felt one new tune on the album, THE BLACK PARADE, needed a woman's voice and they told producer ROB CAVALLO that Minnelli was at the top of their wish list.

Frontman GERARD WAY recalls, "We had discussed a woman forever but then eventually I just did the woman's voice. I was like, 'It just seems like such a cop-out.'

"He (Cavallo) said, 'Well, who do you want to get?' and I was like, 'We should get Liza Minnelli... Why not?'

"Rob called Liz Rosenberg, who is her publicist, and got her to do it."

Bandmate RAY TORO adds, "What was great about working with Rob is like anything that we wanted for this record he made happen."

ROCKER RITTER OFFERS TO BARE ALL ON MTV

ALL AMERICAN REJECTS rocker TYSON RITTER has promised fans he and his bandmates will appear naked on MTV show TOTAL REQUEST LIVE next week (30OCT06) - if they vote the group's new video to number one.

The promo for ballad IT ENDS TONIGHT has dropped out of the TRL top 10, but Ritter is keen to see it back at the top and has posted a message on the group's website promising "nakedness" if fans phone in to vote for the video.

In his video message, in which the singer poses topless on a sofa, Ritter says, "If you secure the All American Rejects the number one spot on TRL, this is happening - nakedness.

HURLEY TO WED AT INDIAN PALACE IN FEBRUARY

A senior manager at the hotel claims Hurley's future mother-in-law, textiles millionaire GUNAR NAYAR, stayed in the presidential suite at the Devi Gahr to make preparations.

He says, "Everything has been shrouded in secrecy but the staff have all been briefed and we are having a series of meetings next week (begs30OCT06).

"Arun Nayar proposed to Liz at the poolside at Devi Garh on 4 November last year (05) and since then they have been intent on a wedding here."

Another manager has confirmed to the newspaper that Hurley plans to fly out three top chefs from London to create the wedding feast.

But there has already been a hiccup for Hurley's ambitious plans - Indian government officials have reportedly refused to give her clearance for a fleet of helicopters, which will shuttle celebrity guests from a local airport to the ceremony.

According to the report, guests like SIR ELTON JOHN, VICTORIA and DAVID BECKHAM and Hurley's ex-boyfriend HUGH GRANT will be staying at the nearby Lake Palace, which was the setting for the JAMES BOND movie OCTOPUSSY.

Insiders claim Hurley is planning another smaller family wedding at the Barnsley Hotel in Gloucestershire, England.

HEIGL AMAZED SET FIGHT LASTED JUST MINUTES

She says, "There was some scuffle... I was on the stairs reading the script or something, so I don't know what the fight was about. It was something silly and manly.

"There was a little burst of testosterone in the room and then within five minutes everything was totally fine and they were totally fine and they're joking with each other and laughing.

"I just couldn't get over the idea that if it had been women, we wouldn't be speaking for years; you do not get over that stuff in two or three minutes. That takes years and years of therapy and counselling."
