SNOOP ESCAPES ARREST AT AIRPORT

Rapper SNOOP DOGG narrowly escaped arrest during a recent flight from his native Orange County, California when airport police discovered a collapsible baton in his hand luggage.

The rap star, real name CALVIN BROADUS, was apprehended at John Wayne Airport late last month (SEP06) and his truncheon was confiscated by police.

According to website TMZ.com, Snopp Dogg was attempting to carry the weapon through an airport security checkpoint when he was stopped.

Orange County Sheriffs' deputies were called to the scene and detained the rapper.

Police officials confirm the star was not arrested, but the incident was filed. It is not known if he will face criminal charges.
