DITO MONTIEL RETURNS WITH HIS SELF-TITLED SOLO DEBUT

Dito Montiel, lead singer of the '90s band Gutterboy, returns October 10 with his self-titled solo debut.

The 15-track release follows Montiel's success with A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, a fictionalized account of his life that he made into a book in 2003 and an award-winning independent film currently in theaters.

The album will be available through all digital retailers. The album is a companion to A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints as the semi-autobiographical subject matter of the songs take place after the time period in which the film was set.

BROOKE HOGAN LAUNCHES DEBUT ALBUM

Brooke Hogan's New Album 'Undiscovered' hits the streets today, Oct. 24th.

Brooke Hogan, star of VH1's Hogan Knows Best and daughter of wrestling great Hulk Hogan, has taken her first step to superstardom with the release of her debut album "Undiscovered" featuring the hit single ''About Us'' with multi-platinum artist Paul Wall.

Since the "About Us" premiere in June, both the single and the video have done incredibly well on the 90 million-member portal MySpace. The single has been streamed over 3.8 million times and the video has held the ranks at #1 for 13 weeks, being played over 895,000 times.

LOVE CLAIMS CREDIT FOR DOHERTY'S REHAB SUPPORT

COURTNEY LOVE claims she talked both KATE MOSS and PETE DOHERTY's mother into joining the troubled rocker in rehab as he battles his drug addictions.

The former HOLE star, who has had her own well-publicised fight with substance abuse, was partly motivated by her desire to see Doherty's relationship with supermodel Moss work out.

She says, "I phoned Pete Doherty's mother and persuaded both her and Kate Moss to help Pete and go to a 12-step meeting with him.

"I was functioning as the 'go-to girl for the publicly humiliated' because I know how that feels.

"And I wanted to help to get Kate and Pete back together. Which I hope has worked."

'DIVA' MORRISSEY BLASTED BY SUPPORT ACT THE DEARS

Canadian rockers THE DEARS have slammed MORRISSEY for behaving like a diva on their recent US tour together.

The band's guitarist PATRICK KRIEF was upset by Morrissey's behaviour and now wishes he had never met his idol.

He says, "Seeing what success can do is pretty painful.

"Being asked to leave the building when he's crossing the corridor or being told not to look directly at him made me sick.

"Sometimes it's better not to meet people you admire. The whole band was pretty upset."

GALLAGHER'S EX TALKS REHAB

OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER's ex-wife MEG MATHEWS ''hit rock bottom'' when she was admitted to a London rehab clinic this summer (06) to receive treatment for depression.

The 39-year-old, who married the DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER guitarist in 1997 before they split four years later (01), knew she had to check herself in to work on her mental health because she was sad the whole time.

Mathews says, "I'd started going to AA sessions and hadn't drank for about a year. But I relapsed on my birthday, drank champagne and really celebrated.

"It all went a bit downhill from there. The World Cup came along, and it was a few beers here, a few beers there - and a lot of hangovers.

"I came to rely on a few drinks to get me through difficult situations. If I had a red carpet event, I'd down a few vodkas first.

"I hit rock bottom this summer. It was the fact I had everything going for me in my life, but still felt sad. For so long, I thought the answer was being thin or having a relationship.

"But rehab's made me realise that nothing's going to fix you, except you."

BOWIE QUITS FRIED BREAKFASTS

Veteran rocker DAVID BOWIE is so determined to remain in decent shape he has given up his beloved fried breakfasts.

"David is up early every morning so he can go on long walks."

Bowie underwent heart surgery in 2004.

BROWN FACES ARREST IF SHE AVOIDS COURT AGAIN

Rapper FOXY BROWN will face an arrest warrant if she fails to show up for court in New York later today (24OCT06) after missing an appearance before Criminal Court Judge MELISSA JACKSON yesterday (23OCT06).

Brown, real name INGA MARCHAND, wrote a letter to the judge explaining she was undergoing surgery to correct a hearing loss problem, and could not attend court.

Annoyed Jackson promised to issue a bench warrant for the rapper's arrest if she fails to appear again today.

In August (06), Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting two women at a Manhattan nail salon in August 2004 in a dispute over payment for a manicure Brown insisted she never received.

But she withdrew her plea after learning it would come with a three year probation period during which she'd have to undergo drug testing and attend anger management classes.

Angry Judge Jackson has denied her motion to withdraw her guilty plea and said yesterday (23OCT06) she was considering changing her probation time to jail time.

It's not the first time Brown has upset the judge - she once stuck her tongue out at Jackson, which prompted the official to suggest she was handcuffed to her seat in court until she apologised.

HOUSE OF FREAKS FAMILY KILLER SENTENCED TO DEATH

A man has been sentenced to death for randomly killing former HOUSE OF FREAKS bandmember BRYAN HARVEY, his wife KATHRYN and their two young daughters.

RICKY JOVAN GRAY, 29, was convicted of the murders in August (06). The jury took just 30 minutes to find him guilty.

The Harvey family were found in the basement of their burning home - bound, beaten with a hammer and stabbed with their throats cut - in Richmond, Virginia on New Year's Day (01JAN06).

Harvey was a guitarist and singer for the rock duo House Of Freaks, who released five albums between 1987 and 1995.

Gray and his nephew RAY JOSEPH DANDRIDGE, also 29, killed another Richmond family days after murdering the Harveys, according to authorities.

LES INCOMPETENTS ATTACKER RECEIVES JAIL SENTENCE

A peace activist has been sentenced to eight months in jail for an unprovoked attack which left then-LES INCOMPETENTS frontman BILLY LEESON in intensive care.

CHRISTIAAN BRIGGS, 30, knocked Leeson unconscious after getting off a London bus following an argument on 22 June (06). The singer had just performed to a sell-out crowd at the Barfly venue in Camden.

New Zealander Briggs, who was once part of a human shield in Iraq, pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm at Snaresbrook Crown Court last month (SEP06) and was sentenced yesterday (23OCT06).

Judge PETER BIRTS told him, "This lashing out by people against strangers is a blight on our civilisation."

Leeson was left critically ill and in a coma after hitting his head, but has since left hospital. His band split last month (SEP06).

SNOOP ESCAPES ARREST AT AIRPORT

Rapper SNOOP DOGG narrowly escaped arrest during a recent flight from his native Orange County, California when airport police discovered a collapsible baton in his hand luggage.

The rap star, real name CALVIN BROADUS, was apprehended at John Wayne Airport late last month (SEP06) and his truncheon was confiscated by police.

According to website TMZ.com, Snopp Dogg was attempting to carry the weapon through an airport security checkpoint when he was stopped.

Orange County Sheriffs' deputies were called to the scene and detained the rapper.

Police officials confirm the star was not arrested, but the incident was filed. It is not known if he will face criminal charges.

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE APPALLED BY BRITISH REPORTS

Rockers MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE have blasted British tabloid the Daily Mail for accusing them of encouraging teenage fans to mutilate and harm themselves.

The group, who currently top the UK singles chart with WELCOME TO THE BLACK PARADE, were horrified by a recent Mail article that took their goth image and dark anthems a little too seriously.

Frontman GERARD WAY fumes, "In the UK there's a conservative newspaper and they refer to us basically as a death cult that encourage kids to self-harm (themselves).

"It was the most ignorant, ridiculous thing we've ever read."

Way insists the newspaper has got him and his bandmates all wrong and they're glad they don't have to face the same negative press in their native America.

He adds, "We're intelligent and we have something to say. We don't use, for example, God or religion as a scapegoat in a lot of ways bands will to sell a record. We have a lot of respect for everybody and what they believe in."

TWINS FOR DE CADENET AND VALENSI

British socialite AMANDA DE CADENET and THE STROKES guitarist NICK VALENSI are celebrating after becoming parents to twins.

Former TV presenter De Cadenet, 34, gave birth to a boy and a girl in a Los Angeles private hospital.

Both babies weighed six pounds (2.72 kilograms), although their son spent his first day in intensive care.

De Cadenet and New Yorker Valensi married earlier this year (06). They live in Los Angeles.

GERMAN ACTORS SMASH SMITH'S PREMIERE RECORD

Hollywood star WILL SMITH's world record for the most movie premiere appearances in a 12 hour period was smashed by two German actors on Sunday (22OCT06).

The German record race began in Munich; the pair then attended two premieres in Berlin before they travelled on to Hamburg, Duesseldorf and Cologne.
