HEARING SET FOR MICHELLE WILLIAMS' FATHER
BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN star MICHELLE WILLIAMS' father was ordered to face an extradition hearing on Wednesday (18OCT06) over tax evasion charges in the US.
Australian police, responding to a request from US authorities, arrested LARRY WILLIAMS, a prominent stock market trader in May (06) in Sydney.
The 64-year-old flew Down Under earlier this year (06) to begin a month-long speaking tour in Australia and New Zealand.
After his arrest, Williams was released on $753,000 (GBP418,000) bail.
Appearing before Sydney's Central Local Court, Williams was ordered on Wednesday to face a hearing on 26 March (06).
The US Internal Revenue Service wants to question Williams, a resident of the Virgin Islands, about a possible $1.5 million (GBP833,000) in unpaid taxes from book royalties and earning from international seminars he conducted between 1990 and 2001.
