GYLLENHAAL LAUGHS OFF BATMAN LEDGER REUNION

JAKE GYLLENHAAL has laughed off internet rumours claiming he will reunite with his BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN co-star HEATH LEDGER in the forthcoming BATMAN BEGINS sequel.

HEATH LEDGER and JAKE GYLLENHAAL at the 58th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards held at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel and Spa in Century City. Los Angeles, California - 28.01.06

Gyllenhaal was reportedly in talks to play HARVEY 'TWO-FACE' DENT - the role taken on by TOMMY LEE JONES in 1995 film BATMAN FOREVER.

Ledger has already been cast to play THE JOKER in THE DARK KNIGHT, which sees CHRISTIAN BALE taking on the Caped Crusader for a second time after his successful debut in 2005.

But Gyllenhaal's agent says, "No, the other guy from Brokeback Mountain is in it if you haven't heard."

This is just stupid. I liked Heath in A Knight's Tale but he is just a completely wrong choice for this. Jack Nicholson was the perfect Joker. Heath....not so much. Heath isn't the funny guy comedy type. He doesn't really look the part, but Mark Hamill (Luke from Star Wars) would make a great Joker. He does the voice of the Joker in the several different Batman cartoon, the Superman cartoon, and several other things. Mark would be a much better choice for Joker.
