FASHION BOSS DENIES 'QUITTING' OVER MOSS SIGNING

English billionaire PHILIP GREEN has slammed reports the boss of his British fashion chain store Topshop quit after he signed KATE MOSS to star in their latest advertising campaign.

JANE SHEPHERDSON quit this week (begs02OCT06) as brand director after eight years, having boosted sales to $1 billion (GBP600 million).

Newspaper reports today (06OCT06) claim Shepherdson was furious when Green, head of Topshop's parent company Arcadia, hired Moss to model for the store, without consulting her.

However, an Arcadia spokeswoman says, "Sir Philip and Jane have been in discussions over the past few weeks and as a result, Jane has decided that after a long commitment to Topshop it is time for a change."

Moss' signing with Top Shop comes after their high street rivals H+M dropped the beauty from their campaign last year (05) following her alleged cocaine scandal.
