GELDOF DAUGHTER IN SHOPLIFTING QUIZ

SIR BOB GELDOF's teenage daughter PEACHES was questioned by security yesterday (03OCT06) after being accused of shoplifting in a central London store.

The 17-year-old student was stopped by guards as she tried to leave the flagship Urban Outfitters store in the British capital's shopping mecca Oxford Street.

After being questioned for an hour, the socialite was free to leave.

A Urban Outfitter employee confirmed, "Peaches were here for 40 minutes to an hour because she was suspected of trying to shoplift a coat."

However, her friend insist the incident was a misunderstanding and the teen had every intention of paying for the garment.

The pal tells British newspaper The Sun, "Peaches was simply shopping and had a coat under her arm.

"There was no question of her not paying for it. She was asked if she intended to pay. She said yes and paid for it later."
