SCISSOR SISTERS: 'WE ARE A BAND FIRST, A GAY BAND SECOND'

SCISSOR SISTERS refuse to think of themselves as a gay band, despite three of the five-piece being homosexual.

Singer JAKE SHEARS claims their sexuality is the "least interesting" aspect of the MARY group's music.

He says, "The fact that three of us is gay is the least interesting thing about us."

However, the band accepts that the homosexual experience is bound to be reflected in their songs.

Bassist BABYDADDY adds, "When we think about sex, we think about sex with other men. We've never tried to hide that, and it's bound to find its way into our music."
