British funnyman FREDDIE STARR has vowed to donate his spare cash to the air ambulance charity which rushed TOP GEAR presenter RICHARD HAMMOND to hospital last week (20SEP06).
Fans of the popular TV presenter have already raised GBP140,000 ($252,000) for the Yorkshire helicopter service which airlifted Hammond to hospital after his 300 miles (483 kilometres) per hour dragster crash.
Now comedian Starr has boosted the figure by pledging his own donation.
He says, "I have a helicopter pilot's license so it's something I feel very strongly about. These guys and girls do an amazing job and it costs a lot of money.
"Hopefully my donation can help people in real danger like Richard.
