NOTORIOUS BIG REWARD REINSTATED

LATEST: Almost a decade after the unsolved murder of rapper NOTORIOUS BIG, the Los Angeles City Council voted on Friday (22SEP06) to reinstate a $50,000 (GBP28,000) reward for information in the case.

The rapper, real name CHRISTOPHER WALLACE, was gunned down by an unknown assailant in March 1997 after attending the Soul Train Music Awards in Los Angeles.

The money will be given to anyone who has information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible for the drive-by-shooting death.

The move came as a judge prepares to hear arguments scheduled for 27 February (07) in a wrongful death civil case brought by the rapper's family against the city. They claim rogue Los Angeles Police Department officers were involved in the killing.
