GRINT PARTY 'SEX ASSAULT' MAN IS STAR'S BEST FRIEND
LATEST: A man charged with sexual assaulting a girl at the 18th birthday party of RUPERT GRINT is the HARRY POTTER star's best friend.
JOSHUA LODGE, 18, has been charged with two serious sexual assaults alleged to have taken place while Grint was celebrating his landmark birthday with dozens of guests in Hertfordshire, England on 9 September (06).
However, Lodge's mother insists her son is innocent and that his friendship with Grint, who plays RON WEASLEY in the Potter movies, is wrecked.
She says, "They were best friends. Now that's been ruined.
"I feel sorry for Rupert having his name dragged through the mud."
Lodge has been bailed to appear at St Albans Crown Court in January 2007.
