Music legend JOHN LENNON was once obsessed with BLONDIE's THE TIDE IS HIGH and played it non-stop at his Long Island retreat.
The 1980 hit, a cover of THE PARAGONS 1967 single, was one of the earliest tunes Lennon's son SEAN remembers growing up with the late BEATLES star.
He says, "My father had an old Wurlitzer in the game room of our house on Long Island. It was filled with 45s, mostly ELVIS and the EVERLY BROTHERS.
"The one modern song I remember him listening to was The Tide Is High, which he played constantly."
