BARRETT'S HOME A HOT PROPERTY

PINK FLOYD founder SYD BARRETT's former Cambridge, England, home has become a hot property since the musician's death in July (06) - but estate agents trying to sell the house fear the majority of prospective buyers are just curious fans.

Estate agency bosses at Cheffins have been inundated with interest in the 1930s home but few seem to be serious about buying.

The sellers fear Barrett's quirky decorating ideas have put many off but they're convinced the majority of people requesting the chance to look around the home are fans of the late rocker.

A source says, "There were more than 40 people looking around the house throughout last Saturday (09SEP06). It's a very hot property."

Meanwhile, contents from the house will be sold at auction in November (06).
