DANNY GLOVER was honoured by the Directors Guild Of America (DGA) yesterday (12SEP06) for his humanitarian work in the US and Africa.

The LETHAL WEAPON actor was lauded at a ceremony in Los Angeles alongside film-maker ARTHUR PENN, SOPRANOS creator DAVID CHASE and New York City mayor MICHAEL BLOOMBERG.
DGA vice president STEVEN SODERBERGH says, "This is a true list of leaders."
Glover has worked as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations in Africa, and was arrested in 2004 during a protest about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
