BRAND TO BE QUIZZED BY POLICE OVER 'DATE RAPE' CLAIMS

British TV presenter RUSSELL BRAND is reportedly having to undergo a DNA test after a guest at a party he hosted reported she had been raped.

The comedian, who is rumoured to have had a fling with supermodel KATE MOSS, threw a bash at his temporary residence in Edinburgh, Scotland, to celebrate the end of his run of comedy gigs at the city's Festival.

The 20-year-old woman claims she was one of several people invited to the party, at which she believes her drink was spiked with a date rape drug.

All the men present at Brand's party are to be tested. Brand faces a police interview as soon as he returns from holiday in Marrakech this week (ends10SEP06).

A police source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "She said she remembers having a drink but nothing after that. She woke next morning and felt very uncomfortable, as if she had had sex.

"A friend persuaded her to go to hospital. After she was examined, staff advised her to contact the police. We are awaiting DNA test results."

Brand's agent JOHN NOEL was unavailable for comment.
