C-MURDER BACK ON HOUSE ARREST AFTER PREMIERE

Rapper C-MURDER has been ordered into a full house arrest after violating the terms of his incarceration by appearing at a premiere.

The Louisiana star, real name COREY MILLER, attended the launch of a Hurricane Katrina documentary in New Orleans while he awaits a retrial for the 2002 murder case involving the shooting of a 16-year-old.

Angry State District Judge MARTHA SASSONE reprimanded the rap star, stating he's not supposed to "have a social life" while awaiting trial.

Miller's original murder conviction was overturned after a judge ruled that prosecutors withheld the criminal backgrounds of key witnesses.

Actress/singer CHRISTINA MILIAN has fallen on hard times after being dropped by her record label and has resorted to selling her clothing on eBay to make money.

The R+B star was dumped by Def Jam records earlier this year (06), just one month after her third album SO AMAZIN' made its debut.

The struggling singer is desperately searching for a new record label and has been forced to sell her clothes on the auction website for some quick cash, according to entertainment news website TMZ.com.

A source says, "Christina has been using a lot of her own money to go out and promote herself, and she's not rich."

Milian isn't the only cash-strapped star selling her wardrobe on the site - TORI SPELLING also has designer duds up for auction.

Rapper SNOOP DOGG is playing peacemaker in his latest video VATO, in a bid to bring warring California gangs together.

The former gangbanger portrays a black leader trying to make peace with a Mexican godfather, played by CYPRESS HILL star B-REAL, in the new promo - and Snoop hopes real thugs in southern California get the message.

He says, "There's a lot of negativity in southern California with the blacks and the Mexicans, so what I wanted to do was put a video together to show some love and bring us together.

"Music brings everybody together, so that's what I'm doing - using my music as a peaceful tool right now."

FARRELL BRINGS MORRISON BACK FROM THE DEAD ON NEW SINGLE

DREAMGIRLS CHARACTER INSPIRED ALBUM

BEYONCE KNOWLES insists her new edgy raw sound was inspired by DEENA JONES, the girl group leader she plays in her new film DREAMGIRLS.

The star had originally planned to wait until next year (07) after the film's December (06) premiere to release a new CD, but instead decided to jump back into the studio while she was still in character.

She explains, "I didn't want to write sappy love songs, even though I'm happy now.

"I would have made a love album, because that's where I am in my life. The movie inspired something else that's not in me. Or I guess it is, somewhere.

"I became this character, so when I went to make this album, I was able to sing more aggressively.

"I wanted to say all the things Deena should have said and to speak for other women going through relationship problems."

TIMBERLAKE TAKES SEXYBACK TO THE TOP

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is back on top of the US pop charts after selling an astonishing 250,000 copies of his SEXYBACK single as a digital download.

The track has shot up the Billboard Hot 100 from 31 to the top spot, toppling FERGIE's LONDON BRIDGE in the process.

Fergie drops to number two, while SEAN PAUL's collaboration with KEYSHIA COLE, (WHEN YOU GONNA) GIVE IT UP TO ME, rises to number three and GNARLS BARKLEY's CRAZY drops to four.

Meanwhile it's turning into a great week for rap mogul SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS' new all-girl group DANITY KANE - after debuting at the top of the album charts on Wednesday (30AUG06), the quintet's SHOWSTOPPER hit has crashed into the top 10 at number eight, a week after becoming the highest new entry at 17.

This week's highest debut belongs to the CHEETAH GIRLS, who enter the charts at number 60 with STRUT.

'WORST TENANT IN HISTORY' DOHERTY KICKED OUT OF FLAT

Troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY is being evicted from his wrecked London flat after building up more than GBP10,000 ($18,000) in rent arrears.

The BABYSHAMBLES frontman, who is currently in rehab being treated for his addictions to hard drugs, has left his landlord shocked at how much damage he has caused to the GBP350,000 ($630,000) property in Hackney.

Doherty has reportedly not paid any rent since January (06), while the floor is littered with syringes and broken glass.

Landlord ANDREAS PANAYIOTOU says, "As well as not paying his rent, there's both graffiti and blood on the wall, and goodness knows what else.

"We have never known anyone like him. (Doherty) is the worst tenant in my company's entire history."

A local resident adds, "The front door was nearly always boarded up and covered in graffiti. Then there were the groupies hanging around on the doorstep and his junkie pals banging on his door at all hours and the endless, headbanging racket.

"We are glad he's going."

STEFANI 'TOO BUSY' TO ATTEND MTV VMAS

LATEST: GWEN STEFANI insists she decided not to attend this year's (06) MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) because she is busy preparing her clothing range for New York City's Fashion Week, not because she is angry with MTV.

Website PageSix.com reported that Stefani decided to boycott the awards show because she didn't win any major awards last year (05).

But Stefani publicist DAVE TOMBERLIN has slammed reports she was snubbing the ceremony, calling them "complete fiction".

The NO DOUBT singer received six nominations last year (05), but was beaten by AMERICAN IDOL star KELLY CLARKSON in most of the categories.

PageSix also claimed Stefani felt she was "set up" because each time the winner was announced, the camera immediately cut to a shot of her.

Tomberlin insists, "It's not true at all."

Stefani is currently staying in New York City where the VMAs are being held, but according to Tomberlin, she is too busy to attend.

He confirms, "Gwen is indeed in New York - prepping for Fashion Week."

Last year (05), Stefani debuted her funky, Japanese inspired line of clothing, L.A.M.B, during New York's fashion week with an extravagant runway show.

TILLY TALKS ABOUT ABUSIVE PAST

THE BIG CHILL star MEG TILLY has written a new book about the horrible sexual and physical abuse she suffered at the hands of several male relatives and acquaintances throughout her youth.

The 46-year-old star turned her back on Hollywood in 1994 and moved to Canada to raise her family out of the spotlight.

She decided to write about her painful past in her new book, hoping that by her coming forward she could help others.

Tilly, whose sister is actress JENNIFER TILLY, tells US publication People, "You spend the first part of your life - or at least I did - trying to fix things, but you realise that you're constantly choking on your own truth.

"I kept thinking there are other kids out there in these types of (abusive) situations. And I just don't want to carry secrets."

Tilly grew up in such grim poverty that she and her siblings were sometimes forced to catch and cook squirrels and snakes.

The actress says her stepfather was a paedophile with a sadistic streak and that he routinely beat her.

She recalls, "I remember the sounds of the belt coming through the loops. He'd whack you across the face. He'd whack you anywhere."

The situation didn't get much better when Tilly's mother split with her stepfather and moved the family in with a boyfriend she describes as "a monster" when she was 13.

She says, "He would all of a sudden pull out the butcher knife and decide you were all going to be killed."

Tilly credits her children for giving her the strength to go public with her harrowing ordeal adding, "When you have children, you ask them to tell the truth. How can you ask that if you don't do it yourself?"

ONO GRANTED FILM-MAKERS ACCESS TO RARE LENNON FOOTAGE

JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO has authorised film-makers to use previously unseen footage of the late BEATLE in a new documentary.

THE US VS JOHN LENNON follows the period of Lennon's life, between 1966 and 1976, when he was an anti-war activist and had trouble qualifying for American citizenship.

Ono provided directors DAVID LEAF and JOHN SCHEINFELD access to home movies, wedding photographs and unfinished films.

She says, "Of all the documentaries that have been made about John, this is the one he would have loved."

Leaf adds, "It's definitely a forgotten story. The vast majority of people who lived through that period and knew something about the Lennon case haven't thought about it in a really long time. For anyone born since then, it's probably an unknown story."

The US Vs John Lennon is receiving its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. Lennon was assassinated in 1980.

He says, "We're just trying to get loads of bands working together, writing with each other, dropping all the stand-offish playground mentality attitude that bands have with each other sometimes when they think they've got to scrap it out.

"A lot of them have got good hearts and are doing it for the right reason and that's why I don't mind going to (Elbow frontman GUY) GARVEY and all the others and saying 'C'mon don't you remember what it was like to be unsigned and what it was like trying to get a break when you started out?'"

MORTON BUYS LOHAN AN ENGAGEMENT RING AT CARTIER

LINDSAY LOHAN is set to become part of the Morton family empire if reports of her boyfriend HARRY MORTON buying an engagement ring are to be believed.

The restaurateur was spotted buying an engagement ring at Cartier in Beverly Hills, California and his aides have confirmed he did in fact buy something special there.

A spokeswoman for the Pink Taco boss says, "I can confirm that Harry was shopping in Cartier, but what he purchased I cannot confirm. If it was in fact a gift then that's between him and whomever the gift is for."

Lohan and Morton have been an item for four months and have been inseparable this summer (06).

Morton is the son of Hard Rock Hotel chairman PETER MORTON.

HOSKINS BLASTS HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVES

Veteran actor BOB HOSKINS has slammed Hollywood for allowing too many creative decisions to be made by executives and marketing bosses who ''have nothing to do with the film industry''.

The 63-year-old British star is furious so many contemporary movies appear to be replicas of previous successes.

Speaking at the Venice Film Festival in Italy yesterday (31AUG06), Hoskins said, "Films are being made as though they were written by computer. They think, 'What has sold before? Films with this? Films with that?' They think that if they have those elements, they have a winner. There is no desire to create.

"They have nothing to do with the film industry. I don't think they are interested in that way."

And Hoskins, who was at the event for the world premiere of his movie HOLLYWOODLAND, didn't just limit his tirade to Hollywood bosses - he also revealed how recently British film chiefs have disappointed him too.

He adds, "I listen to them and think, 'Oh dear, this is what the industry has come to.'"

BUSH ASSASSINATION DRAMA CRITICISED

A British TV drama about a fictional assassination of US President GEORGE W BUSH has been slammed as ''irresponsible''.

DEATH OF A PRESIDENT, which is to be screened by British network Channel 4 on digital channel More4 next month (OCT06), shows Bush shot dead in Chicago, Illinois in 2007. The film then follows an investigation into the 'murder', carried out by a Syrian gunman.

However, the programme has been described as "appalling".

A spokesman for The White House says, "We won't dignify this with a response."

GRETCHEN ESSELL, a spokeswoman for Bush's Republican Party in his home state of Texas, says, "I can't support a video that dramatises the assassination of our president whether real or imagined.

THOMAS TRAPASSO, a former aide of Democrat ex-US President BILL CLINTON, adds, "It's horrible - and irresponsible of the film-makers."

However, director GABRIEL RANGE defends his movie.

He says, "People haven't seen the film yet. It's not gratuitous or sensationalist. The film uses the horrific scenario of the president's assassination to provoke a legitimate debate."

AGBAJE SLAMS 50 CENT MOVIE

LOST actor ADEWALE AKINNUOYE AGBAJE has blasted 50 CENT's movie debut GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN' - despite playing a drug dealer in the film.

London-born Buddhist Agbaje played brutal character MAJESTIC in the rapper's semi-autobiographical 2005 film, but admits he never liked the story line and only took part because he was a fan of the director.

He says, "He (50 Cent) was just a businessman. We were all there to work and to tell his story. I got involved because I'm a big fan of the director JIM SHERIDAN.

"I wasn't too enthusiastic about the storyline.

"You don't get many chances to work with great directors so, when it comes along, you've got to take it."

SWEARING CHURCH TRIPS FILMING TV SHOW

CHARLOTTE CHURCH stunned the studio audience during filming of the first episode of her new TV chat show, when she tripped over a camera lead and began swearing.

The VOICE OF AN ANGEL star, whose TV series THE CHARLOTTE CHURCH show debuts in the UK tonight (01SEP06), lost her balance as she made her way across the studio floor.

She said, "I can't believe I f**king fell! I hurt my knee. What an embarrassment. I've scragged my tights."

Other mishaps to occur included Church forgetting her lines and the band coming in too early.

But speaking after filming, a confident Church said, "I was really nervous before I went on. I can't believe I fell, but it broke the ice. I really fed off the audience.

"But I can deal with this sort of thing as I've been performing since I was 12."

VILLAGE PEOPLE COP PLANS REHAB STINT AS HE AWAITS SENTENCING

LATEST: Disgraced former VILLAGE PEOPLE star VICTOR WILLIS is planning a stint in rehab after pleading no contest to drug possession charges.

The YMCA hitmaker, who was the original policeman in the 1970s disco group, was arrested in San Francisco, California in March (06) after police found cocaine and drug paraphernalia in his car.

Willis, 54, was already in trouble with the law after failing to show up in court on another drug charge last year (05).

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for later today (01SEP06), when a judge will decide whether Willis will serve prison time.

Willis, who has been in custody since his arrest, plans to begin a 90-day treatment programme at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California upon his release.

MUNCH MASTERPIECES RECOVERED

EDVARD MUNCH's masterpieces THE SCREAM and MADONNA have been recovered by police in Oslo, Norway two years after they were stolen.

Two armed robbers stole the paintings, worth an estimated $19 million (GBP10.6 million) from the Munch Museum in August 2004. Both are in a better condition than experts had expected.

Cops have confirmed the $300,000 (GBP167,000) ransom wasn't paid.

A police spokesman says, "We are 100 per cent certain they are the originals. The damage was much less than feared."

Three Norwegian men were jailed for the theft in May (06), although the gunmen are yet to be caught.
