GEORGE PRAISED FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE BEHAVIOUR
Singer BOY GEORGE has been praised for the positive spirit with which he carried out his five days of community service this week (beg14AUG06).
British pop star Boy George donned overalls and gloves for the last time in New York today as he ended his community service for wasting police time. New York City, USA - 18.08.06
The star - real name GEORGE O'DOWD - was sentenced to a working week sweeping the streets of New York City after being convicted of falsely reporting a burglary at his Manhattan apartment last year (05).
His manager JEREMY PEARCE says, "George has responded extremely well. He did it very conscientiously.
"He liked the people he was working with, both those who were doing community service and the sanitation people.
"It was hard but he enjoyed it. People were surprised. They thought he'd be a diva."
