WILSON FINDS LOVE WITH HER GUITARIST

Country star GRETCHEN WILSON has fallen head over heels for her guitarist after splitting from her nightclub owner boyfriend earlier this year (06).

The REDNECK WOMAN singer has reportedly found love with country great TOM T HALL's son DEAN HALL, who joined her backing band in 2004 when he was married.

According to US tabloid the National Enquirer, Hall has since separated from his wife.

Wilson and Hall found they had a lot in common when they discussed weight problems - Hall was a 300-pound (136 kilograms) heavy who shed over half his weight, while single mum Wilson has been battling to get back in shape since making it big two years ago (04).

KNOWLES: 'NEW ALBUM IS FULL OF GIRL POWER ANTHEMS'

BEYONCE KNOWLES had so much pent-up emotion when she raced through the recording of her new album in just two weeks, she's convinced she has made the ultimate angry girl power record.

The former DESTINY'S CHILD star was so inspired by playing a downtrodden singer in upcoming movie DREAMGIRLS, she cancelled vacation plans to hit the studio.

She refused to let anyone know at her record label and so raced through the recording, giving every track a sense of desperation and angst.

She tells MTV News, "I had so many thing bottled up, so many emotions, so many things I wanted to say that while I was supposed to be on vacation, I snuck away to the studio and recorded this record in two weeks and that's why most of the records are so aggressive.

"It's the record that women need to hear."

And she admits even she's shocked by her screaming vocals on new tune RING THE ALARM.

She adds, "I'm screaming at the top of my lungs; I don't even scream, but I had a lot to scream about.

"Women clean men up sometimes... They dress different, they learn a lot of things, they learn how to be a man and then if they dog you out and you move on and another woman just benefits (from) all those things.

"I'm saying, 'Ring the alarm, I've been through this too long, but I'll be damned if I see another chick on your arm.'"

BON JOVI REGRETS SNUBBING SINATRA

JON BON JOVI will take his biggest regret to the grave - he never met his hero FRANK SINATRA.

The rocker admits he had many opportunities to meet his idol but was never mature enough to sit and chat with Ol' Blue Eyes.

He says, "My only regret in my career is that I didn't meet him and I had the chance but I was too young, I wasn't ready for it. I blew it.

"I was asked many a night, 'Come and see Frank, come and see Frank...' Now I could sit and talk to Mr S for hours."

But at least the singer's mother got the chance to meet Sinatra - she got backstage at a show and asked the crooner to sign her copy of Rolling Stone magazine, which featured her son on the cover.

He adds, "My mother went backstage and got him to sign it and said, 'This is my son now; he's a big rock 'n' roll star.' He wrote a little note, he was as gracious to her as I imagined he would have been."

SPEARS DESPERATE TO GIVE BIRTH

Pop star BRITNEY SPEARS is counting down the days until she gives birth next month (SEP06), because back-to-back pregnancies have wreaked havoc on her body.

The exhausted 24-year-old has been pregnant for nearly 18 months out of the past 21, and insists it's time to give her body a break.

She tells American publication People, "I feel like I've been pregnant for 10 years!"

Spears, who has gained 40 pounds (18 kilograms) during her pregnancy, was once renowned for doing 3,000 sit-ups a week.

The TOXIC singer is desperate to get her body back into shape and is determined to do whatever it takes to lose the baby weight.

She says, "I'm so excited to sweat like I used to - now I can't because you're always kind of scared, just kind of protective.

"I'm so excited about getting my body back and getting a routine scheduled. I'm definitely going to start working out in a huge way."

ROCK AND ANDERSON MARRY FOR THIRD TIME

LATEST: KID ROCK and PAMELA ANDERSON married for the third time in three weeks when they exchanged vows in Nashville, Tennessee, yesterday (17AUG06).

Rock - real name ROBERT RITCHIE - wed former BAYWATCH babe Anderson for the first time on a yacht in St Tropez, France, last month (29JUL06), and they exchanged vows again in Detroit, Michigan, last week (ends13AUG06).

The bride and groom both wore white at their latest nuptials - Anderson donned a white Juicy mini-dress and Ritchie wore a white tank top.

After the ceremony, Ritchie took to the stage and sang LYNYRD SKYNYRD's SWEET HOME ALABAMA and HANK WILLIAMS JR's FAMILY TRADITION.

Ritchie's Nashville-based publicist KIRT WEBSTER says, "It was a good time. All the people that were there, the fans, they had a good time."

MADONNA ended months of speculation surrounding the state of her marriage when she delivered an emotional tribute to husband GUY RITCHIE at her birthday party on Tuesday (15AUG06).

OSMENT CHARGED WITH DRINK DRIVING AND DRUG POSSESSION

LATEST: Former child star HALEY JOEL OSMENT has been charged with drink driving and marijuana possession following his car crash in Los Angeles last month (20JUL06).

THE SIXTH SENSE star, 18, was formally charged with the misdemeanours yesterday (17AUG06) in Los Angeles.

According to website TMZ.com, the teenager has also been charged with driving with a .08 blood alcohol level or higher and the infraction of driving under the age of 21 with a blood alcohol level of .05 or higher.

The charges relate to his car crash last month (JUL06), after Osment lost control of his Saturn and collided with a brick pillar in a Hollywood suburb.

The young actor was treated for a broken rib and a shoulder injury at a nearby hospital.

EX-WIFE LEAPS TO TROUBLED LA BAMBA STAR'S DEFENCE

Troubled actor LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS has received unlikely support as he fights to clear his name following a domestic disturbance charge - from his ex-wife.

The LA BAMBA star was arrested on 11 August (06) after police were called to his Northridge, California, home to break up an alleged fight with his live-in girlfriend YVONNE BOISMER.

And no one was more surprised than Phillips' ex-wife KELLY, who insists the reports linking her former husband to a violent attack must be wrong.

She says, "I don't know what happened, but I know it's not in Lou's nature to be abusive or violent. I'm totally surprised."

Phillips, 44, was released after spending 10 hours in custody and no charges have been pressed.

His publicist has already stated the incident was all part of a huge misunderstanding and now Phillips' pal CHASE MICHAELS, who was with the actor when the disturbance erupted, insists it was all a big fuss over nothing.

Michaels says, "Physical violence is not in Lou's character. He and Yvonne are back together."

INQUEST RETURNS SUICIDE VERDICT ON HADCOCK-MACKAY DEATH

LATEST: An inquest returned a verdict of suicide yesterday (18AUG06) after the body of British television presenter TIM HADCOCK-MACKAY was found in woodland near his home last month (JUL06).

The 43-year-old business expert presented shows DITCH THE DAY JOB and TIME TO GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER, but two months ago (JUN06) his marketing company went bust with debts of more than $1.8 million (GBP1 million).

Hadcock-Mackay's boyfriend TORQUIL MACKENZIE-BUIST told the inquest in Nottinghamshire, England, that the presenter had been suffering worsening bouts of depression despite taking medication.

DAVID IAN: 'I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANDREW'S PROBLEM'

LATEST: SIR ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's reported legal action against DAVID IAN surprised his HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA? co-judge, because he didn't realise they had a problem.

Lord Lloyd-Webber and Ian are seeking a young actress to play MARIA in the forthcoming London production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC on the BBC talent show.

And THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA composer reportedly wanted to take the show's format to the United States to cast a Broadway production of GREASE, but soon discovered Ian had already brought the idea to US network NBC, who announced last week (ends11AUG06) they will look for unknowns to play SANDY and DANNY.

NBC is producing YOU'RE THE ONE THAT WE WANT with Ian and the BBC, leaving Lord Lloyd-Weber furious.

But Ian says, "I don't understand the problem. Andrew has no connection with the stage show Grease, which I have successfully produced in the UK.

"There is a new production of Grease on Broadway in the spring of 2007, that's why I've been asked to judge on You're The One That We Want."

LATCHFORD EVANS KICKED OUT OF BOYBAND

Former STEPS singer LEE LATCHFORD EVANS has been fired by his fellow bandmembers on MTV UK reality show TOTALLY BOYBAND.

The TRAGEDY hitmaker had formed a group with former NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK heart-throb DANNY WOOD, ex-S CLUB 7 star BRADLEY McINTOSH, 911's JIMMY CONSTABLE and ANOTHER LEVEL's DANE BOWERS.

HANGIN' TOUGH hitmaker Woods, 37, says, "We're all bringing our own experiences to this and I don't see what he's bringing."

Bowers, 26, adds, "There's no real contribution, he's not helping the cause. We have two weeks to make a single."

The show debuts on MTV UK on 17 September (06).
