KISS FANS PROTEST OUTSIDE HALL OF FAME

Hundreds of furious KISS fans have protested outside Ohio's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum at the band's apparent snub.

The protestors, holding placards and sporting the band's trademark black-and-white painted faces, are angry the GENE SIMMONS-fronted group have not yet been inducted, despite being formed more than 30 years ago.

Although selection is based in New York City, not at the Cleveland museum, 200 fans turned up in front of the building for a 30-minute rally yesterday (05AUG06).

According to the museum's website, artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. It adds, "Criteria include the influence and significance of the artist's contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll."
