HEATWAVE FORCES PROMOTERS TO SCRAP BROADWAY IN THE PARK SHOW

New York's heatwave has prompted promoters of this week's (03AUG06) Broadway in Bryant Park show to scrap the event.

Organisers fear the Big Apple's current heat emergency will be too much for singers and dancers from the casts of CHICAGO and THE LION KING as they perform gruelling routines and musical numbers outside.

The promoters hope to stage the sixth and final week of the summer series next week (10AUG06).
