SCISSOR SISTERS STAR REVEALS SUICIDE BID

JAKE SHEARS found it so difficult to cope with his meteoric rise to fame he considered throwing himself into New York's Hudson River.

The flamboyant SCISSOR SISTERS frontman confesses he plunged into a deep depression after returning home from a promotional tour of the group's self-titled debut album and struggled to continue with normal life after the buzz of the road.

He tells Attitude magazine, "I've never felt so low. I was ready to go walk over to the Hudson and float away. It was more than a comedown. It was like shooting a torpedo into the ground.

"I got back to New York and I didn't want a life."

The singer insists he would never have recovered without the help of boyfriend CHRIS, who helped him cope with his new-found stardom.

He says, "Thank God for my boyfriend, who is such a grounding influence on me.

"He was just very supportive. He totally never got impatient with me."
