IDOL STARS TO PROVIDE RELIEF AT WHITE HOUSE MIDDLE EAST TALKS

AMERICAN IDOL star TAYLOR HICKS is set to meet PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH after he and his fellow former contestants were invited to join the US leader and his wife LAURA at the White House during a tour stop in Washington DC.

Hicks and the other Idols are currently touring America on the Idols live tour and Bush felt sure their trip to the White House would provide a welcome break for himself and visiting British Prime Minister TONY BLAIR as they tackle the crisis in the Middle East.

The Idol finalists will be given a tour of the president and First Lady's official home before meeting Bush for a photo opportunity on Friday (28JUL06).

The visit will be extra special for Alabama singer Hicks - his former English teacher, SUSAN WHITSON, is now Laura Bush's press secretary.
