BOY BAND STAR BEATEN UP

British pop singer CHRIS PARK was left bruised and battered following a brutal street attack last week (ends21JUL06).

The 24-year-old singer of boy band PHIXX was walking home in Newcastle, England, when three thugs pounced on him unprovoked and left him with two black eyes.

To add insult to injury, the attackers filmed the assault using the latest mobile phone technology.

Park says, "I just thought, 'Why me?' It was so random and pointless - it shows everyone has to be careful. It can happen to anyone, anywhere."

Phixx found fame with four UK Top 20 hits after Park and four other losing contestants on UK talent show POPSTARS: THE RIVALS formed their own band in 2003.
