MACGRAW FRONTS NEW WILDFIRE CAMPAIGN

LOVE STORY star ALI MacGRAW has signed on to appear in a new People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals public service announcement warning animal lovers to protect their pets from California's summer (06) wildfires.

The actress, who lost everything in a wildfire that ravaged her California neighbourhood a decade ago, is urging those prone to blazes to consider their dogs and cats when they're making evacuation plans.

In the PETA campaign, MacGraw says, "Our animal companions rely on us, especially during wildfire season, when disaster can strike with almost no warning.

"If wildfires force you to evacuate your home, do not leave your animals behind."

The actress also urges pet owners to visit PETA's website HelpingAnimals.com, which offers lifesaving tips like tagging cats and dogs with identification in case they become separated from their families.
