The film-maker's harrowing movie tells the story of two cops trapped in the remains of New York's Twin Towers for 22 hours following their collapse.
The New York Post reports police and firefighters have been invited to private screenings this week (ends21JUL06).
However, the union representing the Port Authority Of New York and New Jersey police officers have warned Ground Zero rescuers could find the movie traumatic and it could lead to post-traumatic stress disorder.
The film's producer MICHAEL SHAMBERG says, "Emotionally, it's important that these men and women have the opportunity to see the film first, though only if they feel comfortable."
