CHURCH LANDS TV SERIES

Welsh singer CHARLOTTE CHURCH has landed an eight-part British TV series in which she will speak with celebrity guests, take part in comedy sketches, and introduce live music.

The 20-year-old has signed up with network Channel 4 to make an eight-part series called THE ALL NEW CHARLOTTE CHURCH SHOW, after TV bosses were impressed by its outrageous pilot.

The VOICE OF AN ANGEL star says, "I'm so excited to have my own TV show. I have a brilliant team around me and it's great to be given the opportunity to act in sketches, have fun with members of the public and meet some famous people.

"I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as I enjoy making it."

Church shocked the pilot's studio audience recently when, wearing a nun's outfit, she ate communion wafers printed with Ecstasy smiley faces, before pretending to hallucinate. She then smashed a statue of the Virgin Mary to reveal a can of cider inside.

However, the pilot won't be included in the forthcoming series, due to air on Friday nights in September (06), as television chiefs want it to be as up-to-date with current affairs as possible.
