HATHAWAY'S FASHION FAUX PAS

ANNE HATHAWAY found it easy to relate to her unfashionable character in THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA after suffering a number style disasters when she was starting out in Hollywood.

The young star had no idea about what clothes to wear and found herself completely unprepared while promoting her first big film, THE PRINCESS DIARIES.

She recalls, "The press junket for the first Princess Diaries was the funniest thing, because I showed in LA and I didn't even know what a junket really was.

"My manager called me and was said, 'What are you wearing?' and I said, 'Um, clothes...'

"I ran out and bought this bright turquoise blue top, but unfortunately because you're in a hot room, I had these massive sweat stains.

"And I was wearing pink leather pants. I didn't know my hair and makeup people - they made me look like a 40-year-old hooker. It was a huge disaster!"
