Two European magazines have caused outrage by publishing pictures of late British royal DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES in the wreckage of her car which fatally cashed in Paris, France, in 1997.
Italian publication Chi and Spanish magazine Interviu have both run the photograph which shows an attending paramedic placing an oxygen mask over Diana's face.
Chi editor UMBERTO BRINDANI says, "I published it for a very simple reason - it's never been seen before."
A spokesperson for the Diana Memorial Fund charity, which was set up in remembrance of the princess who died shortly after the image was taken, hits back: "It's in very poor taste."
The picture was taken from an upcoming book on Diana's death by French author MICHEL CARADEC'H, and he is shocked the image has been put into the public domain.
He admits pictures from his book are "shocking and should not have ended up in magazines".
MOHAMED AL FAYED, whose son DODI died alongside his lover Diana, says, "This heartless pursuit of money brings shame on those responsible for such a vile publication. It makes me sad and angry."
Three photographers who took pictures of the dying princess were found guilty of breaching her privacy by a French court, but were only given a one euro ($1.27/GBP0.70) fine.
