ERIC CLAPTON's former girlfriend is to air a previously unheard love song which the rocker dedicated to her while pregnant 20 years ago.
LADY OF VERONA was written for then lover LORY DEL SANTO, an Italian television presenter who hails from the city.
However, Clapton never released or performed the track, instead locking it away when the couple's relationship broke down after the death of their four-year-old son CONNOR, who tragically fell from an apartment block.
However, in an interview on CBS's ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT in the US tomorrow (10JUL06) Del Santo has promised to play part of the mysterious ode, which she kept on a tape.
She recalls, "He said, 'Here you are. I wrote a song for you.'"
Clapton will perform in Verona, Italy tomorrow night (10JUL06) in front of a 25,000-strong crowd.
