JACKMAN SET FOR STAGE PLAY DOWN UNDER

X-MEN hunk HUGH JACKMAN is set to return to the Australian stage to star in a new play.

The actor will return to his native Australia to tour hit musical THE BOY FROM OZ, which turned him into a stage sensation in New York, and now he's in negotiations to get serious about his acting ambitions Down Under.

According to sources, Jackman is in negotiations to star in an upcoming Sydney Theatre Company production.

The Western Australian Academy Of Performing Arts graduate says, "I spent four years training in drama, which I haven't actually done. I love the immediacy of the theatre."

Jackman isn't the only Aussie superstar in talks with Sydney Theatre Company directors - CATE BLANCHETT will make her directing debut for the troupe this winter (06).
