LANGHAM TRIUMPHS AT TV AWARDS

British comedy star CHRIS LANGHAM, who is facing child pornography charges, has triumphed at the Monte Carlo TV Awards on Saturday (01JUL06) - beating RICKY GERVAIS to the gong for Best Comedy Actor.

Langham, who was arrested last December (05), collected the award for his role in TV satire THE THICK OF IT. Fellow Brit ASHLEY JENSEN won the category of Best Comedy Actress for EXTRAS.

TERI HATCHER-starring show DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES won Best Comedy Series, while CSI was named Best Drama.

Langham has been charged with 15 counts of making indecent images of children - but must wait another month for his case to be heard at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court in Kent, England.

Langham, 57, was arrested in November (05) as part of an ongoing police inquiry into paedophile activity on the internet and charged last month (MAY06).
