DEPP THE KIDS' FAVOURITE

Hollywood maverick JOHNNY DEPP is enjoying his new status as kids' favourite thanks to his roles in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and WILLY WONKA.

Following his performance as CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW in Pirates Of The Caribbean, Depp loves being mistaken by children for a real-life pirate and enjoys making movies that he can show his seven-year-old daughter LILLY and four-year-old son JACK.

Depp said, "I meet them, and they go, 'Wow, you're Captain Jack!' And you can see it in their eyes that they're not thinking, 'That's Johnny Depp playing a part.' God, what a wonderful high that is.

"I've started to make films that I hope my kids might be proud of. They saw Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and loved it.

"There are films of mine I definitely would not want them to watch!"
