IRISH FANS A HIT WITH HASSELHOFF

DAVID HASSELHOFF was shocked when he found out that his most adamant fans are in Ireland, not Germany.

The 53-year-old has reached cult-like status in Germany over the past 15 years as a singer.

Hasselhoff was shocked to find out that the majority of his fans actually come from Ireland when he attended a meeting with executives from the internet search engine Google.

He tells USA Today, "Right now, if you Google my name, you'll find there are 3,500,000 references (at least).

"I did a Google convention recently in Berlin and talked to the Google guys and said, 'Where is this coming from?'

"I said, 'What's the number one country?' I thought it was Germany.

"It's Ireland! Go figure. Germany was number three!"
