PETE TOWNSHEND's younger brother SIMON has slammed speculation he is jealous of his brother's musical success, insisting he's just proud to be associated with the legendary rocker.
Simon's new band CASBAH CLUB, which also includes former JAM member BRUCE FOXTON, are supporting Townshend's THE WHO on their latest UK tour.
But the younger sibling is adamant he suffers no inferiority complex or bad feelings playing warm-up for his brother.
The musician says, "I'm proud to be Pete's brother. I'm not in any way envious of his career.
"Sometimes people think I am and that's ridiculous, I'm proud of him and I love him. When people say I sound like him, it's a buzz."
