MONKEY STAR'S FAMILY HEARTACHE

Estranged ARCTIC MONKEYS bassist ANDY NICHOLSON reportedly left the chart-topping band as a result of a secret family crisis, according to a family member.

The MARDY BUM rocker pulled out of the band's US tour last month (MAY06), blaming "fatigue", before quitting for good.

But the real reason for his departure is purportedly because he is terrified for the wellbeing of his father, who disappeared from his life after breaking up with Nicholson's mother.

Cousin BRENDA BIRKETT tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "We did wonder whether Andrew might try and find his father.

"We don't even know whether his father is still alive."
