COYNE AIDS PROPOSAL
THE FLAMING LIPS frontman WAYNE COYNE brought a bit of romance to London last night (23JUN06) when he aided an on-stage proposal.
The IT OVERTAKES ME hitmaker was headlining the O2 Wireless Festival in London, along with MASSIVE ATTACK and GNARLS BARKLEY.
During the Oklahoma band's theatrical performance, Coyne stepped aside to let two of his dancers - dressed as aliens - take to the microphone.
Coyne said, "I want everyone's attention because somebody up here has a very special question to ask someone."
Coyne allowed IAN to propose to his girlfriend JULIE over the mic and she accepted, much to the delight of the rocker and thousands in the audience.
