Lost episodes of sci-fi series DOCTOR WHO are being transformed into cartoons.
Over 100 episodes from the 1960s were wiped by the BBC, but in a lucky twist of fate audio versions made from fan recordings have been used to create the soundtrack to a new animated version of the show.
Fans will get another chance to see the 1968 episodes - in which Doctor Who, played by PATRICK TROUGHTON, battles the Cybermen - when the DVD is released in November (06).
A BBC spokeswoman says, "The original episodes are lost forever. But we have found an innovative way of presenting this classic adventure."
