BLUE PETER television bosses have promised to introduce ID cards in a bid to stop badges given out by the legendary UK children's show being sold on auction website eBay.
The Blue Peter badge is a long-running prize which allows the owner to access 200 British museums and other attractions for free.
But TV chiefs suspended the privilege in March (06) after it came to light badges were being auctioned online.
The ID card idea came in a letter to the show from 11-year-old viewer HELEN JENNINGS. Winners will still receive the badge, but it will be accompanied by a hologram ID card with their name on it.
Blue Peter editor RICHARD MARSON says, "We've given her (Helen) an silver badge. She really helped."
