Former SPICE GIRL GERI HALLIWELL has begged her ex-bandmate VICTORIA BECKHAM to be the godmother to new baby BLUEBELL.
Mother-of-three Beckham was a surprise choice after the singers' much publicised rift when Halliwell quit the girl group in 1997.
But flame-haired Halliwell is convinced Beckham is the perfect choice, after the pair rekindled their friendship in the run up to Bluebell's birth.
A source tells British tabloid the Daily Mirror, "They have been through thick and thin together and the bond between them is stronger than ever. She (Beckham) was like a sister to her when she was pregnant.
"Geri is passionate about having strong role models, especially female ones, in her daughter's life. And who better than Victoria?"
Halliwell is reportedly hoping close pal GEORGE MICHAEL's partner KENNY GOSS will be godfather.
