FERGIE STAYS FOCUSED ON HEALTHY WEIGHT

BLACK EYED PEAS singer FERGIE is determined to maintain a healthy body image, even though the tabloids are constantly scrutinising the slightest fluctuation in her weight.

Fergie, real name, STACY FERGUSON, has to closely monitor her diet and has constantly struggled with body image issues.

She explains, "While I love to be in shape, I'm not going for that unrealistic goal of being super-skinny.

"I'm not a big fan of the stick-thin body. I had that body about five years ago, and it was a very unhealthy phase of my life.

"I was on (crystal) meth and lost so much weight, I was unrecognisable.

"I'd rather be a couple of pounds heavier than have my life in shambles.

"I've had insults thrown at me on the Internet and in the tabloids and it has hurt my feelings a lot. I've been through a lot of therapy!

"To let the Hollywood pressure take over my world would be stupid."
