AXED PANIC! STAR BLASTS FORMER BANDMATES

LATEST: Former PANIC! AT THE DISCO bass player BRENT WILSON has blasted his former bandmates over the way he was kicked out of the band.

In a statement from the cult rockers last month (MAY06), they insisted Wilson quit the group, but he insists he was dumped over a money row.

Speaking to MTV News, the angry rocker rants, "I was kicked out of the band. It was 100 per cent a surprise to me. We were about to leave for a show in California, and they called me the night before and told me I was out of the band.

"Everything was good and fine, we had just gotten back from a tour in Europe, and there had been no previous conversations about anyone leaving the band. I don't know why they chose me."

Wilson admits he was fuming when he read a statement from his former bandmates that led fans to believe they had all agreed to go their separate ways.

He adds, "They said the matter was discussed as a band, and it wasn't discussed at all. It was done as a phone call and the only person who spoke was (drummer) SPENCER (SMITH)... They never even said they were sorry."

Wilson insists he was cut out of the group so he wouldn't benefit from an upcoming windfall: "We were about to start a tour where the band would've been bringing home around $300,000 (GBP166,600)... and basically they kicked me out, so the question about money goes through my head a lot."

And Wilson, 18, reveals he's particularly upset with his bandmates because he gave up his baseball dreams to play bass for them: "I gave up baseball in high school because of this band, and I could've gotten a college scholarship... The whole thing is really difficult. I never thought my best friends would do this to me."
