CUOMO GRADUATES FROM HARVARD

WEEZER frontman RIVERS CUOMO finally received his degree from Harvard University - 11 years after enrolling in the Ivy League school.

The BEVERLY HILLS singer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the prestigious institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Thursday (08JUN06).

The 35-year-old went back to school earlier this year (06), after the band completed an 80-city tour to support their latest platinum album MAKE BELIEVE.

Cuomo traded in his rock 'n roll lifestyle and five-star hotels for a tiny dorm room and admits he wasn't sure he would be able to cope.

He explains, "At first, I was a little nervous about living in dorms, because I just thought it might be strange because, A, I'm a celebrity and B, I'm old."

The singer initially enrolled at Harvard in 1995, after the release of Weezer's first multi-platinum album, because he thought he was "wasting his brain."

Cuomo has attended the university on and off for the past 11 years between records and tours and was able to maintain a nearly perfect grade point average.
